Your donations can help provide lifesaving aid to families who have lost everything.

Days of torrential monsoon rain have caused devastating flash floods across Bangladesh, impacting around 1.7 million people and killing more than 50 people.

Homes have been washed away and vital infrastructure such as roads and bridges are badly damaged.

Families are struggling to access food, clean water and other essentials as floodwaters continue to cut off communities across the country.

Donate today to help Islamic Relief provide lifesaving emergency aid to families affected by the floods.

What’s happening in Bangladesh right now?

Since 5 July 2026, torrential rainfall, combined with a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal, has been flooding homes, damaging infrastructure and disrupting livelihoods across 12 districts.

Entire communities have been left stranded as homes, roads, bridges and other vital infrastructure have been damaged or destroyed.

Crops, livestock and fisheries that millions of people depend on for their livelihoods have also been destroyed, which is likely to lead to immediate and long-term food shortages.

More than half of the people killed so far were in Cox’s Bazar, where more than 1 million Rohingya people are sheltering in the world’s biggest refugee camps.

With more heavy rainfall forecast, there are fears that flooding could worsen in the coming days, leaving even more families in urgent need.
